Business and regulatory crime / Professional discipline and misconduct / Motoring and haulage / Care
I started at Markel Law in 2013 as a paralegal and qualified as a solicitor in February 2016. I am part of the business crime and professional discipline department.
I have experience acting for a range of clients in a range of regulated professions. These include proceedings involving: the Care Quality Commission (CQC), OFSTED, Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC), Office of the Traffic Commissioner (OTC), Inquests and Police Misconduct.
I have assisted numerous Goods and Passenger Operators with both new and existing licences on a range of licensing issues together with representing Operators in proceedings before the Office of the Traffic Commissioner.
I have established a specialism in acting for Care Providers against their regulators and at Inquests. I defend the wide range of enforcement action that may be taken by the CQC, Ofsted and the Department for Education. I defend action in both a regulatory aspect and against the CQC’s prosecution powers.
I also provide advice, assistance and act for medical professionals in respect of fitness to practice proceedings.
“I was immediately impressed by her maturity beyond her years, her ability to listen, learn and very quickly absorb complex issues. She has a talent to communicate at all levels and never seemed stressed by the inevitable demands placed upon her. She has a willingness and ready smile that is infectious and heart-warming which a client needs on occasions.”
